Outside Mountshades are mounted on your wall or molding. Even if windows have enough frame depth for Inside Mount, you may prefer the extra room darkening and privacy Outside Mount provides.
Inside Mount shades are contained within the window frame. Our Honeycomb Shades require at least a 3/4" frame depth for Inside Mount (required depth varies with some upgrades). You may prefer an Inside Mount because it provides a finished look without covering the molding; it also allows more clearance to layer Drapery, a Valance or Cornice over shades. Before choosing Inside Mount, be sure to check windows for "squareness", as Inside Mounted shades will not operate properly or hang attractively if windows are not "square."
Integrate the appearance of side-by-side windows and increase light control options by combining up to three independently operating shades on one headrail.Minimum width for Multiple Shades on One Headrail is 26"
Operate your shades more easily + conveniently, with enhanced safety, by adding Cordless Lift or Loop Control.
Loop Control allows you to raise your shade smoothly with little effort. This feature allows for even placement of your shade when it is partially raised. Cord loop length depends on the height of your shade; standard length is approximately 2/3 the height of the shade or you may choose a longer or shorter length depending on your specific needs. Loop control cords are available in larger set sizes up to 144".
Cordless Lift allows you to raise and lower your shade using a handle that is located on the bottom rail of your shade. Cordless lift is a perfect addition to any shade being placed in a child's bedroom as it eliminates control cords. Cordless lift is not available with the Triad Honeycomb Shade.
Lower your shades from the top to let in sunlight with Top Down/Bottom Up or Cordless Top Down/Bottom Up.
Standard Lift (shown left) cords raise, lower and position your entire shade. Select either left- or right-side location for your cords, taking into consideration your room configuration, ease of reaching lift cords behind furniture, etc.
Top Down/Bottom Up shades will have cords on both sides; one to control lowering the shade from the top, the other to control raising it from the bottom.
If you select Loop Control, please specify cord position as left or right. Loop control allows you to easily and precisely lower and raise you shade with a continuous cord.
If you select Multiple Shades on One Headrail, please specify cord position for each shade. A cord cleat will also be provided with your shade, which must be installed and used properly to keep dangling lift cords out of the reach of small children and pets.
To keep the bottom of your shades in place, mount our complimentary Hold-Down Clips in the lower corners. This is especially helpful in high-wind locations or for shades placed on doors.
Extension brackets are used for outside mount installation requiring additional clearance between the window treatment and the mounting surface. Extension brackets allow you to clear obstructions such as molding, window cranks, door handles, etc.
