Designing With Madcap
Wide window mouldings and a substantial fireplace gave this dining area a clean-lined formal feeling. The owner wanted to use window treatments to introduce a more eclectic element a touch of pattern and variance of colors to align with her more casual style. Because light could sometimes overwhelm family meals, the doors and windows needed treatments that could gently filter the sun.
Top Down/Bottom Up Fabric Roman Shades in an oversized floral pattern bring charming color and whimsy to this dining space. The cool colors and English rose pattern designed by Madcap Cottage work well with the dark walls and garden right outside. A coordinating trellis pattern on the small window and a custom covered side chair adds to the eclectic look. The Top Down/Bottom Up operation of the shades lets the homeowner control light no matter where the sun is.
With its blank white walls and solid blue couch, this small living room was in need of visual interest a pop of colorful pattern to enliven the space. The homeowner's style was eclectic, with a mix of refinished thrift store finds and new purchases, which could sometimes read chaotic. She wanted window treatments that could bring disparate looks together while adding pattern.
Relaxed Fabric Roman Shades featuring an oversized floral pattern from Madcap Cottage gave this plain room the perfect amount of pattern. The blue tones coordinate nicely with the couch and the woodprint-inspired pattern helps to tie in vintage furniture and décor. Custom throw pillows in a series of mid-scale patterns add further color and cohesion.
