| How to Choose Naturals |
Our Naturals rug collection lets your imagination run wild. With dozens of colors, natural materials, textures and border treatments, you can create one-of-a-kind rugs that are uniquely yours. Border treatments are exciting and range from luxurious leather to intricate tapestries. With dozens of rug materials and border materials, and five border styles, Naturals rugs offer you unlimited options for years of natural beauty.
Select your rug material.
Bamboo, seagrass and mountaingrass have wonderful natural textures and wear well. Sisal is easy to maintain with simple vacuuming. Wool suits high-traffic areas. If you're not sure which material you would like, visit our Design Center. There you can create and view a virtual rug in any material, shape and border.
Select your shape.
Decide on the look of your rug. Choose from a standard square or rectangle, or decide on a circle, oval, octagon, arch, quarter-circle or a special cut for uniquely shaped spaces. You may want to select a square or rectangular rug with rounded corners - these shapes bring a softer look to angular rooms. We can custom make your rug in virtually any shape you choose.
Select your size.
Decide on the dimensions of the rug you want, and give us the exact measurements. Provide the shortest and longest measurements when ordering squares, ovals, octagons and special cuts. For circles, measure the diameter. When choosing quarter circles, provide the radius. Octagons, arches and special cuts require some additional measurements (see the illustrations in our online Order Guide).
Select your border.
All Naturals rugs must be finished with borders. You may choose from 61 border materials and 5 border styles for most standard shapes and special shapes, including octagon and special cuts. All other custom shapes will be finished with a 1" solid twill border. Not all borders are available with all shapes or styles of Naturals rugs. To choose your border and view the effect it will have when combined with your rug material and shape, visit our Design Center.
Consider a rug pad.
A custom rug is an important investment. You can protect both your rug and your floor by ordering an optional pad. Pads keep a rug in place, offer support and shock absorbency and help ventilate your rug. With a rug pad it's easier to vacuum, so dirt is more easily removed. Rug pads also protect your floors.
Our rugs woven from natural materials may have slight weave, color and fiber irregularities characteristic of natural materials. These variations will add to the distinctive, interesting character of your rug. Slight color change may occur over time and with exposure to direct sunlight in some materials.
